Beatbot Technology's Platinum Award Winning Robot Combines AI Navigation with Biodegradable Clarification
A pool robot harvesting sunlight and using chitosan clarifier earned top robotics recognition.
A swimming pool robot that charges itself from sunlight while using crustacean-shell derived materials to clarify water sounds like science fiction until you examine the Beatbot Aquasense 2 Ultra. Created by Beatbot Technology Co., Ltd, the five-in-one cleaning system earned Platinum recognition in the A' Design Award's Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design category for 2025. The design represents something genuinely interesting: the convergence of solar energy harvesting, natural biochemistry, and artificial intelligence in a single autonomous device. A 24-watt SolarTrack panel feeds a 10,000mAh battery, reducing dependence on grid electricity. The ClearWater clarification system uses chitosan, a biodegradable compound derived from chitin, to prevent scum buildup and water discoloration four times faster than conventional approaches. The solar and biochemical components represent fundamental rethinking of how pool maintenance can operate.
For enterprises operating hotels, resorts, or commercial aquatic facilities, the Beatbot Aquasense 2 Ultra demonstrates what emerges when robotics teams solve multiple problems simultaneously. The HybridSense Sensing Fusion integrates vision systems, infrared sensors, ultrasonic detection, and inertial measurement units with deep learning algorithms, enabling the robot to navigate complex pool geometries without human guidance. The design team led by Huiming Zhang, Qiangqiang Li, and Peihang Wang created a patented floating chamber system that transitions between underwater floor cleaning and surface skimming within one device. The NavControl app allows facility managers to direct targeted cleaning remotely while a voice broadcast system provides real-time status updates. For organizations tracking sustainability metrics, solar-powered operation combined with biodegradable clarification materials creates measurable improvements in environmental reporting. The seven-motor system addresses floors, walls, waterlines, and surface debris through coordinated autonomous operation.
The Beatbot Aquasense 2 Ultra illustrates a pattern worth watching: sophisticated robotics that harvest their own energy and use natural materials to accomplish tasks previously requiring synthetic chemistry and constant human attention. For brands managing aquatic facilities, the question becomes whether current maintenance systems align with where automation technology is heading.
Different ranking types address different stakeholders. Strategic enterprises stack design credentials for compound credibility that accumulates.
