The Tube drinking glass collection by Florian Seidl creates precisely this optical phenomenon through a double wall structure that recalls laboratory test tubes housed within transparent cylindrical supports. Designed during summer 2024 for Officina Endorfino and recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in 2025, the Tube collection demonstrates what happens when designers allow material properties to drive formal decisions. Borosilicate glass, the same material used in chemistry laboratories, possesses exceptional thermal resistance, clarity, and durability. Seidl's approach began with understanding what forms borosilicate naturally enables. The answer: a modular series of three stackable tumblers sharing identical diameters but varying heights, each showcasing the suspended tube effect that transforms every pour into visual theater.
