A wine collector's commission for a five-story private club raised a fascinating design question: how do you create a space that feels simultaneously intimate and grand? Kris Lin answered with circles. Royal One, the Platinum A' Design Award-winning private club house, uses circular geometry as its organizing principle, drawing from the Chinese philosophical concept of unity between heaven and humanity. The circular hall at the venue's heart does something remarkable: corners disappear, visual tension dissolves, and the eye travels continuously around the space. Guests do not simply occupy Royal One; they participate in it. For luxury brands and enterprises developing exclusive hospitality venues, the lesson extends beyond aesthetics. Circular organization creates natural gathering points while simultaneously encouraging exploration toward connected spaces like wine cellars and private dining rooms.
The functional program of Royal One spans underground barbecue rooms, climate-controlled wine cellars, audio-visual entertainment spaces, and bedrooms across four floors above ground and one below. Each space serves distinct purposes while maintaining aesthetic coherence through consistent application of the circular motif and material palette. Kris Lin International Design selected natural stone, custom woodworking, and aluminum panels for those overlapping circle effects in dining areas, prioritizing durability alongside visual impact. A suspended water droplet installation, approximately 2.5 meters tall and crafted from highly reflective materials with integrated LED lighting, creates a dynamic focal point that changes character as lighting shifts throughout gatherings. The installation evokes the flow of life, merging natural references with contemporary design vocabulary. Recognition from the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award validated the approach, distinguishing Royal One among exceptional hospitality design work.
Private club development for brands demands more than luxury finishes. Philosophical foundations, natural integration, and graduated intimacy create venues where guests modulate their own experience intensity.
